Separate art from artists

Are artist really that much depressed, lunatic, abnormal person just like their art???

"The term 'Artist' and 'Art' often evoke comments, with some linking the artist's personal traits to their work. For instance, Van Gogh's art is sometimes viewed through the lens of his depression. Similarly, Dostoevsky and Kafka are seen as reflecting their own melancholy in their writings. However, art is not always a direct reflection of the artist's behaviour . Writers, for example, may exaggerate or draw inspiration from various sources to create compelling fiction. Just because Dostoevsky wrote about a murderer doesn't mean he shared that trait. As he was in prison, he had an opportunity to communicate with prison people and their experiences.

A famous painting of Vincent Von Gogh, looks sad, isn’t it ? Of course only the painting is!!! He isn’t sad always.

Lars von Trier's films, like 'The House That Jack Built' or 'Nymphomaniac,' featured characters of psycho, a nymph women, asexual and a pedophile. He himself is not a psycho, nor a woman, nor asexual or pedophile shows art is far removed from the his own identity.

A snap from nymphomaniac movie where both extremes meet she is nymphomanic where the guy is asexual.

Similarly, Stanley Kubrick's 'Lolita' portrays a lead character suffering from 'electra complex,' and Alfred Hitchcock's 'Strangers on a Train' features a deal made with a lunatic guy to attempt murder."

Just the Tenet having crush on the girl. It doesn’t have to be Stanley Kubrick.

The knowledge and behaviour depicted in art are often speculative or inspired by various sources, not necessarily the artist's personal experiences. Expecting artists to only create what they've directly experienced limits their ability to explore diverse themes and emotions. Critics who can separate the art from the artist understand that the emotions portrayed in art don't always reflect the artist's own feelings at the time of creation."
